PMIWDC is preparing for our annual PM Symposium on September 28 in Tysons Corner. This all-day event features multiple tracks of speakers across the Talent Triangle. It’s a great, efficient way to get 7 PDUs. And back by popular demand is a photographer to take a free professional headshot for your LinkedIn profile. now! We still have a few speaker positions available, too.
As part of my term as COO, I continue to tour the many events we do across D.C. and Northern Virginia. Recently, PMIWDC Volunteer Russell Sandidge invited me to speak in Fair Lakes – a great event in a beautiful location. PMIWDC averages 10 events per month. Besides Fair Lakes, we are in Tysons Corners, Vienna, Mclean, Winchester, Dunn Loring, Reston, McPherson Square, Washington Circle and at the USDA building next to the Smithsonian Metro. We are virtually guaranteed to have an where you live or work. Come join us!

Our Monthly Chapter Event continues to increase in attendance with over 130 people in May. For Memorial Day, we honored our military by hosting local active-duty soldiers. In June, we had free beer tastings from D.C. Brau. Thanks to John White, Veronica Ortiz and their teams for managing such a great event.

I want to stress the lifeblood of this chapter is our volunteers. Over 200 volunteers serve to educate and enrich the careers of 10,700 PMIWDC members. Check out our page for more pictures of volunteers in action. If you are interested in volunteering, go or reach out to Board members at the Monthly Chapter Event.
