We were excited to meet Sunil! He had been on the job just two months and was visiting the largest chapter in the world! The board shared the chapter's strategic vision and plan for the next 5 years. Sunil shared his strategy and where he sees PMI heading in the future. In his Facebook live chat with Uma Hiremagalur, VP Technology, he talked about his 6 priorities :
In keeping with PMIWDC’s mission, High Impact Community Leaders, the chapter has been collecting food donations for Martha's Table, a local food bank.

Interested in donating? Bring your non-perishable donations to any of our monthly chapter events!

As the organization evolves to accommodate its large and diverse Project Management community, the board is focused on ensuring we keep up with how PMI is changing globally, nurturing an environment of sustainment in membership while preparing for a new generation of project managers and prioritizing personal and professional development amongst its membership.

Did you know that PMIWDC spans four Virginia counties and the District of Columbia?
Most of the 20 Local Communities of PMIWDC meet in-person once a month at no cost for about 90 minutes, which includes a guest speaker and networking opportunities at locations convenient to your home or work. Starting November 16 PMIWDC will offer the monthly Virtual Local Community to PMIWDC members. The Virtual Local Community will meet online for 60 minutes each month, as well as provide you and your fellow attendees online networking opportunities the day after the event.

One of this year’s Nobel winners in Economic Science is noted for demonstrating how knowledge is a critical component to long-term economic success. I will not pretend to understand the complexities of Paul Romer’s endogenous growth theory, but at its most basic, he recognizes the importance of ideas and innovative thinking.

PMIWDC Reston - Volunteers Dominic Lepore and Jamey Lees with Speaker Suzie Grieco
I am honored to be Chief Operating Officer of the largest PMI chapter in the world. I have been volunteering for PMI for over 15 years; it is pleasure to serve the people and interests of PMI.
As part of my term as COO, I have embarked on a tour across the many locations we provide services. I am committed to visiting all our locations this year. This will take me from downtown D.C. out to the borders of West Virginia.
As we start 2018, we are excited to hold our monthly chapter events at a new location, on a new day, and even with a new format!
Meet Jason Legum - the new 2017 CFO. Jason began by volunteering 6 years ago as Records Management AVP before becoming VP of Records Management and before combining those operations with business services to create and head the Operations Services operational area. During that time, Jason focused on managing costs, finding opportunities to improve services common to all operational areas, and improve the chapter's knowledge management. His latest never-ending mission is to empower the strategy development team so the chapter can have a mission, vision, and strategy connecting our stakeholders and aligning our operations.
As 2017 comes to a close we have one more Operational Area to recognize, Operations Services, as an critical part of the organization that helps to keep things operating smoothly. You might think of Operations Services as a PMO for the PMIWDC. Operations Services provides support to the other Operational Areas, PMIWDC chapter leadership, and maintenance of uniform processes in the areas of chapter event, contract negotiation and management, and records management.
Greetings from the Volunteer Coordination (VC) operational area of the chapter!
