Many leaders just go through the motions in life (like a clock); and others allow situations and circumstances to dictate their actions (like a thermometer). In either case, leaders are not able to fully tap into their full potential and may be disengaged from their true passion and fulfillment. When they become more conscious and engaged, judgment lessens, stress lessens, and productivity, pleasure, and feelings of purpose and fulfillment increase.
Conscious Leadership offers a choice. The opportunity to function like a thermostat --- instead of fitting into the status quo, the leader feels empowered to set the tone and shift the energy and culture in order to achieve greater results and levels of satisfaction.
The leaders will get an overview of the Seven Levels of Energy or Conscious Leadership. The levels are based on the concept, The Cycle of Consciousness --- thoughts drive feelings/emotions that drive behaviors and outcomes. Every leader has default ways of viewing the world under normal and high-stress circumstances. The leader will learn how to move beyond their default tendencies and consciously choose a mindset level that best serves the situation --- not be limited to what is comfortable or current knowledge base, skills and abilities. The leaders will also learn about the internal blockers of success and tips on how to overcome them.

About the Speakers
Marvin is a seasoned leadership coach, talent strategist and human resources executive with 25+ years of experience working with leaders and talent at all levels in world-class organizations including The Coca-Cola Company, W.R. Grace & Co., EY, AT&T, and NCR Corporation.
His mission/purpose is to coach, teach, mentor, and empower leaders to be the best versions of themselves. Marvin’s aim is to encourage, stretch, equip, and empower them to be amazing leaders that make a profound impact on their families, places of work and communities. They often find something is getting in the way --- it may be lack of self-awareness, confidence, lack of practical tools, limited exposure, inadequate accountability or a feeble strategy and playbook that allows them to maximize their performance and focus, build their credibility and competence, and illuminate their character.
About the Monthly Dinner Meetings
The PMIWDC Monthly Dinner Meetings are held at the Sheraton Tysons (8661 Leesburg Pike, Tysons, VA 22182), typically on the third Tuesday of each month (subject to change due to holidays and venue/speaker availability). Members and non-members are welcome to join us for the best speakers and networking the Washington, DC area has to offer.
The presentations are educational and informative to those professionals operating in the field of project management and functioning in leadership roles in industry and government. It is also of great value to those looking to step into the field of Project Management and begin their certification process. Each event will present specific learning points focusing on building a talent triangle of technical, leadership, and strategic and business management skills, unique to the presenter's area of expertise and the subject matter discussed while directly relating to improving the practice of managing projects and leading others. At each Monthly Chapter Event certified PMPs can earn 1 Professional Development Unit (PDU).
