What is a key outcome of a project implementation? Change! Successfully implementing change requires systematic engagement of key stakeholders, managing risks, and effective communications. Project managers can establish a strong foundation for the project by developing a shared vision for the future state and then support the client to successfully navigate the change and sustain the gains.

Project managers need to develop integrated project plans that take into account not only system/technology requirements but also client program strategy and people-centric impacts. Important components to consider include:
• Change sponsor and change network
• Strong business case for undertaking the change
• Stakeholder impact and change readiness
• Engagement plan to include feedback loops to support two-way communications
• Making the change stick after the ‘project’ is completed

Change is most successful when there is visible client sponsorship and it is guided by a clear roadmap for action. Through this interactive session, learn tips and best practices on how to best incorporate change management into your project plan and then bring home a completed worksheet as a mechanism for putting the knowledge gained into action for your future projects!

Anne Marie DiNardo has over 20 years of experience leading projects from large-scale web-based platforms to comprehensive strategic communications solutions for the public sector. She is an expert in a range of Organizational Change Management disciplines including strategic planning, communications, training, online/digital outreach, public speaking and facilitation, interpersonal communications, knowledge management, website/intranet design and content development, storytelling, and writing/editing. She has led numerous high-profile initiatives that include helping position organizations with a focus on branding, conducting outreach campaigns to engage key stakeholders (internal and external) to reinforce program participation, leading user adoption efforts for web-based tools, and launching knowledge sharing platforms for international audiences. She is currently a Stakeholder Engagement and User Adoption Lead for REI Systems supporting both Advisory Services and Open Government business units, and has worked at various consulting companies including The Manoff Group and Deloitte Consulting. She also worked at C-SPAN Television in a number of roles which include media relations and online community building. She earned a Master’s degree in Communications, Culture and Technology from Georgetown University, a Master’s degree in Public Relations from Boston University and a Bachelor's degree in Television-Radio from Ithaca College. She has been a certified Project Management Professional since 2006.

About the Loudoun Community

PMIWDC is pleased to announce a new Community in Loudoun County: PMIWDC - LC! PMIWDC’s Loudoun luncheons are a series of free brown bag luncheons hosted at the REI Systems Headquarters, 45335 Vintage Park Plaza, Sterling, VA 20166, conveniently located near the intersection of Route 28 and Route 606, north of the Dulles Airport. The Loudoun Community Luncheons are held every second Monday of the month, unless posted otherwise. In the event of a holiday, the luncheon will be on the third Monday. (Pre-registration is recommended). PMIWDC – Loudoun Community’s goal is to provide members with a convenient forum for learning, discussion and knowledge exchange. The Luncheons will feature presentations by guest speakers who are PMI-recognized thought leaders, educators and Subject Matter Experts.
