The presentation will start by identifying the learning objectives – risks are unavoidable, risk management is an essential management process, differentiate between project risks, opportunities and issues.
For risk planning, the topic covers translating risk information and defining mitigation strategies such as accept, avoid, transfer, control. For risk control, the speaker will explain that controlling requires carrying out actions previously recorded, and ongoing revaluation of the risks to assess if the mitigation strategy is working or need adjustment or closure.
The speaker will provide examples of the similarities and differences between risks and opportunities. Also, the speaker will provide examples of the differences between project risks and issues. For the session to be interactive, the audience will be asked to come up and share examples of risks, and issues from their environment.
