The role of earned value management is to plan and monitor the schedule, cost and scope.  The role of an agile approach is to plan and monitor scope, schedule and cost.  While they have the same roles, the priority order and importance is different.   How can they be compatible or even improve each other?  The devil is in the details.  

This session will cover key elements the implementation supporting the earned value management and agile on the same contract with regard to organizing for the work, reporting and tool support.  The Q&A portion will elicit additional best practices from the participants.

About the Speaker

Barbara Phillips

Barbara Phillips is a principal consultant and trainer for contracts requiring both a validated earned value management systems and an agile approach.  In addition to speaking at EVM and vendor conferences, she has helped teams across the country implement EVM systems that produced credible data for informed decision making.  An active member of the College of Performance Management, she is leading the inauguration of its local chapter here in the Washington, DC area, CPM WDC.  A graduate of George Mason University master’s program in information systems, she holds both the PMP and EVP certifications.
