About the PresentationEarned Value Management (EVM): A Driver of Organizational Strategy
Growing pressure on federal budgets creates the strategic imperative to increase the transparency of the performance of agencies’ mission-critical investments, as well as heighten their realized benefits. The goal of this seminar is to explore how EVM serves as a vital tool for public sector agencies to achieve their mission and overall strategies through integration with project portfolio management. The seminar will feature a presentation by John Perotti, Senior Manager, Lucas Balderson, Senior Consultant and Teressa Wooten, Specialist Master of Deloitte. In addition, former GWU alumnus, J.W. Heinlein, a Manager at Deloitte, will make opening remarks on career opportunities and her own experience at the firm.
Format of the Program
The format for the program will be opening remarks by PMA Officers on the Association’s calendar of activities for the balance of the academic year. This will be followed by a presentation by Deloitte on Earned Value, subsequent teamwork on an EVM case study problem, and later discussion of solutions with the speakers. The program will end with informal discussion of career opportunities at Deloitte (especially in project management), also to be continued at a no-host gathering at the Circa Restaurant near Foggy Bottom metro.
