If the past months have reinforced anything for us, it’s that we live and work in a VUCA world (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex & Ambiguous). Our ability to face into this world with insight and skill is a prerequisite for adapting and flourishing in this new normal. Our communities of work are poised to play an increasingly vital role in strengthening our emotional intelligence competencies, like self-awareness, self-management and empathy, that will determine our capacity to navigate this landscape with increased resilience.

In a world that’s demanding clear, calm and centered leadership, what can you do to become a less anxious presence for those you live and work with?

In this session, Heather O’Neill Jelks, a certified teacher for Search Inside Yourself (SIY) will introduce us to highlights from this leadership program that was born at Google from one engineer’s dream to change the world. Search Inside Yourself bridges age-old practices of mindfulness with emotional intelligence and modern neuroscience to help leaders, team members and organizations improve focus, increase compassion, and enhance well-being.

About the PM Industry Insights

PM Industry Insights is PMIWDC's workshop series that addresses the practical aspects of Project Management.

These sessions are to provide you with insights on what is going on in the local industry so you can learn from it. This discussion-based session will include presentations on tools, industry panels, interviews with industry experts, workshops, etc. The target presenters will be individuals from PMO’s, university professors, consultants, etc.

Both PM Industry Insights and the monthly dinner meeting are worth 1 Professional Development Unit (PDU) each to certified PMPs. Continued certification as a PMP requires the accumulation of these valuable credits and we are pleased to offer this opportunity to obtain both the important training and the educational credit associated with it.
