The Sunrise Valley/Reston Local Chapter is hosting this virtual presentation due to COVID-19.

Informal virtual networking will begin at 11:45am

The presentation will run from Noon - 1:00pm

The line will remain open for questions and discussions through 1:15pm

Registration is complimentary. Pre-registration is required to receive call-in information. This will be sent the day before the event and one hour prior to the start time. 

About the Program

This presentation will provide a brief overview of Fairfax County and Northern Virginia, highlighting the free and confidential services provided by the FCEDA, pre- and post- COVID-19. The relationship and interaction between Economic Development and Project Management, illustrated by a few real time case studies.

About the Speaker

Jan Mul

Director, International Marketing

Jan E. Mul directs the International Marketing Division at Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA). Jan joined the FCEDA in March of 2004 and his primary role is to assist foreign firms with their market entry into the U.S. and Fairfax County. He manages the five overseas offices that the FCEDA maintains in Bangalore, Berlin, London, Seoul and Tel Aviv.

His areas of expertise include marketing, business development, business operations and market communications. For twelve years he was with AT&T/Lucent Technologies and AVAYA in Marketing and Business Development, lastly as Director of Marketing for AVAYA’s global enterprise networking cable business.

Jan is an active member of the Northern Virginia Technology Council since 2002 and was the Co-Chair of the Technology Innovations Committee from 2004 – 2010. He also serves on the Board of the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce since 2007 and is the Co-Chair of the Marketing and Business Development Committee of the British American Business Association (BABA) in Washington D.C. since 2015. Since June 2016, he serves on the BABA Board of Directors.

Jan holds a MS Degree in Mathematics from the University of Technology Eindhoven, The Netherlands. He moved to the United States in 1994.

About the Sunrise Valley Luncheons

The Sunrise Valley Luncheon Series (formerly the Fairview Park Luncheon Series) is held at Noblis. Noblis has recently relocated its headquarters office to Reston, VA at 2002 Edmund Halley Drive. There is no charge for these events and the event is open to the public. Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch to the event if they wish! Networking begins at 11:30am and the presentation runs from 12:00noon - 1:00pm.
