Are you frustrated with goals not being met and projects that drag along? What if there was one thing that teams could do to deliver outstanding results?
Imagine obtaining these outcomes:
- Gain clarity on what is most important
- Determine which problems are worth solving
- Build a path to successful outcomes
- Motivate staff with clear objectives
Did you know that by determining outcomes prior to starting an initiative or project, you can have 48% more of your goals met, 50% more of your projects on time, and 66% more within budget? (2016 PMI study) Gaining more clarity around objective outcomes has widespread strategic as well as the immediate impact on initiatives and projects.
And it makes sense, because if everyone understands the benefits of the destination, the easier it is to plan the trip and track our progress.
But it's not as easy as you may think.
We often start with requirements, frantic activity, or even just falling in love with technology, without really understanding the business problem we are trying to solve - which leads to frustration and tech sitting on a shelf. A short amount of time dedicated to determining outcomes at the onset can save months of heartache in the end.
Learn how to Initiate Results so that your projects are on the right trajectory, your teams are communicating, and your organization moves from frustrated to empowered.

About the PM Industry Insights
PM Industry Insights is PMIWDC's workshop series that addresses the practical aspects of Project Management.
These sessions are to provide you with insights on what is going on in the local industry so you can learn from it. This discussion-based session will include presentations on tools, industry panels, interviews with industry experts, workshops, etc. The target presenters will be individuals from PMO’s, university professors, consultants, etc.
Both PM Industry Insights and the monthly dinner meeting are worth 1 Professional Development Unit (PDU) each to certified PMPs. Continued certification as a PMP requires the accumulation of these valuable credits and we are pleased to offer this opportunity to obtain both the important training and the educational credit associated with it.
