About the Speaker
Doug Thompson is a proven leader with expertise in operational and management support on a global level. He possesses extensive expertise in multi-national logistics together with asset and configuration management. He has been successful in the DoD and the Intelligence Community. He currently works at Leidos supporting the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency as IT Asset and Configuration Manager in a multimillion-dollar program. Possesses experience in developing, implementing, and reviewing processes and procedures to monitor the overall effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of the programs or organizational units directed.
He applies experience with developing and revising long-range plans/goals, balancing priorities with resources to achieve cost avoidance, ensure compliance, and increase efficiency throughout the organization’s worldwide footprint. He is a change agent for organizational transformation and improvement. Adept at administration and planning of budgets, schedules, and personnel management.
As a US Naval and Joint Qualified Officer, Doug served with distinction in various leadership and management positions. He utilized team consensus building to achieve the best results for employees and the organization. He led cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize critical DoD strategic imperatives. He effectively managed logistics departments balancing constraints against emerging priorities while ensuring goals and objectives were attained. He led his department in achieving the US Navy’s Logistic Award for financial, personnel, and inventory management.
Doug received an MBA from Troy University, a Master’s Degree in Technology Management from Georgetown University, and a Military Operational Art and Science Certification from the National Defense University. His undergraduate degree is in Economics from DePauw University. He has enjoyed the opportunity of having lived in 11 states and 3 continents.
