About the Program
Program and Product Management is about innovation, managing customer needs and wants, identifying and delivering against customer expectations. The presenter will share a story covering the life cycle of a program with respect to innovation, product strategy, concept of operation, development and management of delivering and supporting capabilities for a customer in Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
The presenter will provide an overview of the history of the program, domain background, industry standards, processes, training, and people/human aspect of managing and supporting capabilities to save lives and overcome asymmetric threats. Lessons learned will be shared with the audience based on experiences gained and the next generation of capabilities. The program was recognized by the customer as well as by the industry for innovation, service, and capabilities.
Doors will open at 11:30am for informal networking. The presentation will begin promptly at Noon and will last about an hour. There will be informal networking following the presentation through 1:15pm.

About the Speaker
Asif Khan is currently with IBM Global Business Services as an Associate Partner responsible for Cross Sector Complex Program Mgmt., Delivery Excellence and supports New Business Development. Prior to IBM he served with AT&T Corp. in Program/Product Mgmt. capacity offering new products and services covering global markets. He also has served with the Lockheed Martin Corporation supporting various LM Line of Businesses (LoBs) and customers. He has over 23 years of experience in the private & public sector. During his career, he has managed products and programs for U.S. and international customers.
His education includes Master degrees, one from Wayne State University, Detroit, the other from the University of Peshawar and an MBA from Carey Business School, Johns Hopkins University. He is a member of the Project Mgmt. Institute (PMI), Washington DC Chapter and Defense Industry Offset Association (DIOA). He has served on the Board for PMI Space Coast Chapter. Asif is also a member of Product Development Management Association (PDMA) and has served on the PDMA Atlanta Chapter Board, he volunteers with Kiwanis and Red Cross.
About the Sunrise Valley Luncheons
The Sunrise Valley Luncheon Series (formerly the Fairview Park Luncheon Series) is held at Noblis. Noblis has recently relocated its headquarters office to Reston, VA at 2002 Edmund Halley Drive. There is no charge for these events and the event is open to the public. Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch to the event if they wish! Networking begins at 11:30am and the presentation runs from 12:00noon - 1:00pm. Non-Noblis visitors are required to show a picture ID to gain entrance to the facility.
