Project Management Institute Washington DC (PMIWDC) Chapter partners with local universities to bring our chapter events to university students, young professionals, and our members in Washington, DC on a quarterly basis. Both Members and Non-Members are welcome to join us for the best speakers and networking the Washington DC area has to offer!

Talent Triangle

The presentations are targeted towards project management professionals, corporate and government leaders, and students looking to step into the field of project management. Our speakers will discuss each element of the PMI Talent Triangle to help further professional development and enhance the following skills all in one night! Each University PM Talks Event also offers certified PMPs 2 Professional Development Units (PDUs). These elements include:

  • Technical Project Management
  • Leadership
  • Strategic and Business Management

This event is free for students, costs $20 for members, and $25 for non-members. This event provides 2 PDUs for certified PMs. If you have any questions about the event, please contact us.

Event Details:

Wednesday, March 1, 2017 - 5:30pm - 7:30pm at the George Washington University’s Marvin Center, at Room 309 in Washington, DC 800 21st St NW, Washington. The closest metro is Foggy Bottom and garage parking is available at the Marvin Center. A photo ID is required to attend the event.


Presentation by Alan Zucker, PMP - Technical
Title: “Delivering Faster: How to Shorten the Project Schedule”

Every project manager can construct a good project schedule, but great project managers can take that same body of work and deliver it more quickly, without reducing scope or compromising quality. The great PMs can cut 10% to 25% from a schedule by understanding how teams work and where there are opportunities within the project plan itself. In this presentation, Alan Zucker will share techniques to reduce project duration and improve time-to-market, without compromising quality or scope.

Presentation by Natalya Bah, PMP - Leadership
Title: “The Project Manager's Secret Sauce for Increasing Team Member Engagement””

Engaged team members are one characteristic of successful project teams. This presentation will introduce the "secret sauce" for project managers to increase the engagement of their team members. One of the three ingredient of the secret sauce will be focused on - knowledge of strengths. Tips will be given for identifying and utilizing employee's strengths even when you don't have the benefit of having a self-assessment for them.

Title: "The Power of Business Strategy to Enable Organizational Energy"

In this presentation, Dr. Al Zeitoun will share tips and tricks to recognizing opportunities for strategic planning. Business strategy plays an important role in energizing an organization and their people. Know how to identify the pillars for a connected cascading of business strategic direction.

Dr. Al Zeitoun, PMP

PM Solutions

Dr. Zeitoun has more than 30 years of global experiences in strategy execution, portfolio, program, and project management. In his recent position, as President of PM Solutions, his responsibility energized the global strategic direction and performance of this strategy execution consulting and capability development firm. His experiences span: leading organizations and standing their Enterprise Program Management Offices (EPMOs); directing PPM Methodology implementations; driving the leadership education and research activities and curricula for major global enterprises and institutions; and successfully executing complex global mega infrastructure, IT, and manufacturing strategies.
Previous to PM Solutions, Dr. Zeitoun was the Corporate PMO Executive Director for Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), Abu Dhabi, UAE, where he was responsible for creating the strategy execution framework, executive coaching, and program discipline necessary for developing the $20B program.

Prior to that, Dr. Zeitoun strategically envisioned Booz Allen Hamilton’s advisory, with a focus on customizing EPMO playbooks and mapping relevant capability development to clients’ strategic objectives and initiatives. Furthermore, he led the firm’s Middle East North Africa Portfolio Management Solutions as part of the leadership team that restarted the firm’s global footprint. He also served as Booz Allen Hamilton’s representative on PMI’s Global Executive Council for 5 years.

Also with the International Institute of Learning, Inc. (IIL), Dr. Zeitoun was a Senior Executive and also held the position of Chief Projects Officer. He was instrumental in driving global expansion, thought leadership, and project management methodology execution across organizations worldwide.
