About the Speakers
Sara Gallagher, PMP
Sara Gallagher, PMP is a project management consultant, trainer, and speaker at The Persimmon Group LLC, a management consulting firm whose clients range from Fortune 200 companies to small and mid-sized businesses in a breadth of industries. A practicing project manager, Sara Gallagher has established focused expertise in project/portfolio management, strategic planning, and change leadership.
Sara’s speaking style is engaging but challenging. She integrates evidence-based management insights with a healthy dose of contrarianism to test what we think we know about effective project management. As a consultant and trainer, she regularly delivers full-day training to clients on a variety of topics related to project management, team leadership, and communication. In addition, Sara is a featured blogger on blogging4jobs.com, named by Forbes magazine as a Top 50 Career Website for 2012 and 2013. Her work on the blog is frequently featured on Smartbrief: Workforce.
Prior to joining the TPG team, Sara served as the senior Project Manager for a network of privately-owned career colleges dedicated to the training and retraining of thousands of Oklahoma adults each year. In 2011, she served on the Board of Examiners (as Strategic Planning Lead) for the Oklahoma Quality Award Foundation, an organization committed to helping Oklahoma businesses achieve sustainable excellence using the Malcolm Baldrige framework. She currently serves as the Director of Publicity for PMIT and volunteers weekly as a PM for Youth classroom facilitator in public schools.
A graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, GA, Sara has also studied at the American University in Cairo and blogs about business, project management, and her "DIY MBA" education at http://www.gearsandshifts.com and http://www.blogging4jobs.com.
