“On time, on scope, on budget.” This is the relentless mantra of the Project Manager—but is our hyper-focus on tactical success hurting our bottom line? When Project Managers are afraid to recommend thata project be killed, the answer is probably yes! This is why companies all across the country are recognizing that it takes more than a project manager to drive strategic success—it takes a Project Leader. A Project Leader understands the larger dynamics driving the project agenda—the competitive environment, the project portfolio, and the strategic plan—and they’re poised to make their appearance in C-suites across America. Compiling the research of top business leaders, researcher, and futurists, Sara Gallagher will help participants of this session identify the skills that will be required over the next 10 years to navigate the momentous shift from “Project Manager” to “Project Leader.” Learning Objectives: - Leave with a broad understanding of Project Management’s current state and role within most corporate structures - Understand the powerful forces and trends shaping the future of Project Management - Learn why the current tactics-focused model of Project Management is quickly becoming obsolete. - Identify the skills needed to navigate Project Management’s shifting landscape.
