About the Book

The Courageous Follower: Standing Up to and for Our Leaders,Ira Chaleff

(Current price is under $17.00 for paperback plus shipping on Amazon or $12.99 for the kindle version at The book may also be available from your local library.)

For every leader there are dozens of followers working closely with them. This book speaks to those followers and gives them the insights and tools for being effective partners with their leaders. It is a guide that can be kept on a bookshelf and referred to repeatedly when confronted with the challenges of supporting and, at times, correcting a dynamic leader. Boards of Directors, Senior Managers and staff who are loyal to the mission of their organizations, will all find this updated and expanded edition more relevant than ever to preventing and righting leadership wrongs and fostering values-based leadership efforts. The main change in the third edition is the addition of responding to leaders in hierarchal organizations. In this edition the author adds strategies to his “proximity to the leader” requisite for influencing the leader. The author finds that he is increasingly coaching and training to how to work with leadership in larger and complex organization and offers guidance on how to handle such situations.
