About the Program
This presentation will provide a high level overview of over the full life cycle of project activities from finding the business (Capture Management) to preparing the proposal and pricing to win (Proposal Management), to kicking off the project (Project Management).
From Route 50
As you enter Winchester past the Nissan Dealership, continue over I-81. Just past I-81 Hwy 50 will split - take the split to the right (Millwood Avenue) toward the University and Halpin Harrison Hall will be a few blocks up on the right hand side, across the street from the Sheetz gas station.
From Route 7
Take route 7 into town (over I-81) to Pleasant Valley Avenue. Take a left on Pleasant Valley Avenue and go about 1 mile (past the funeral home and Jim Barnett park on the left). About 250 yards before the intersection of Millwood Avenue and Pleasant Valley there is an entrance on the left to the parking lot of Halpin Harrison Hall. If you miss this you can proceed to Millwood Avenue and take a left and access the parking lot from Millwood Avenue.
About the Speaker
Jorge is an Entrepreneur. He Founded Business Management & Operations Consulting, LLC in November 2011. He brings a lifelong breath of experiences to the business environment that visibly transfers to everyone around him. He and his family migrated to the United States in pursuit of the American dream in 1973. Jorge has since served our Country honorably through dedicated service in the Armed Forces. In 2006 he transitioned into the private sector and continued his service to our nation through the corporate environment. He previously served as the Chief Operating Officer for Quality Paint and Coatings, with headquarters in Wisconsin, USA. Jorge led the transformation of the company, converting it to a Business Service Center (BSC) business model that became the preferred paint and coatings provider for the largest customer in the region.
He is a graduate of the US Army Engineer School and the US Army Sergeant Majors Academy. His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Management/Leadership.
His awards and decorations include:
- The Legion of Merit
- Bronze Star Medals
- Defense Meritorious Service Medal
- Meritorious Service Medal and the Master Parachutist Badge.
- He has also received the Silver and Bronze Order of de Fleury Medals.

The DC Chapter of the Project Management Institute is pleased to host a new quarterly meeting in Winchester, VA. Membership in PMI and/or the DC Chapter is not required, however PDUs will be available for Project Management Professionals (PMPs). The presentations delivered are educational and informative to those with an interest in the field of project management. Each event will present specific learning points, unique to the presenter's area of expertise and the subject matter discussed while directly relating to improving the practice of managing projects and leading others.
