About the ProgramThe presentation will explore issues related to the similarities, differences and challenges in leading people and managing projects. We will also discuss the different skill sets needed in leading people and managing projects.
From Route 50
As you enter Winchester past the Nissan Dealership, continue over I-81. Just past I-81 Hwy 50 will split - take the split to the right (Millwood Avenue) toward the University and Halpin Harrison Hall will be a few blocks up on the right hand side, across the street from the Sheetz gas station.
From Route 7
Take route 7 into town (over I-81) to Pleasant Valley Avenue. Take a left on Pleasant Valley Avenue and go about 1 mile (past the funeral home and Jim Barnett park on the left). About 250 yards before the intersection of Millwood Avenue and Pleasant Valley there is an entrance on the left to the parking lot of Halpin Harrison Hall. If you miss this you can proceed to Millwood Avenue and take a left and access the parking lot from Millwood Avenue.

About the Speaker
Dr. Miles Davis
Dr. Miles K. Davis is the George Edward Durell Chair of Management and Dean of the Harry F. Byrd, Jr. School of Business at Shenandoah University in Winchester.
Prior to becoming the dean of the Business School in
July 2012, Dr. Davis served as the founding director of the Institute for Entrepreneurship at the Harry F. Byrd, Jr. School of Business. He continues to teach courses on entrepreneurship, as well as conduct research and publish on the intersection of religion and entrepreneurship. Additionally, Dr. Davis is the host of an award winning radio on small business and he has numerous media citations.
His engagement in the business community is wide arranging, as he sits on the board of the Small Business Development Center, Chamber of Commerce, First United Bank and the Amana Mutual Fund.

The DC Chapter of the Project Management Institute is pleased to host a new quarterly meeting in Winchester, VA. Membership in PMI and/or the DC Chapter is not required, however PDUs will be available for Project Management Professionals (PMPs). The presentations delivered are educational and informative to those with an interest in the field of project management. Each event will present specific learning points, unique to the presenter's area of expertise and the subject matter discussed while directly relating to improving the practice of managing projects and leading others.
