About the Presentation

It is not just projects that have a life cycle - even life has one! So, if life IS indeed a project, as aspiring/trained PMPs, should we not be really leading it? How to do it? This session is to help open our minds to this project.

In Tysons Corner, entries into parking from Hwy 7, near intersections of Westpark Drive or Greensboro Drive. Photo ID is required. SAIC Drive is a roundabout at the end of ‘Solutions Drive.’ Guest parking is free. Easiest to enter at front of building (large glass atrium) - no badge required.

About the Speaker

Shankar A. Iyer, PMP

Mr. Shankar A. Iyer’s, PMP career has span over three decades managing a multitude of diverse projects in varied roles in Advertising, Business, Marketing, Marketing Research, Product and Project Management leading multinational firms in many different industries. He has a Bachelors' degree in Electrical (Electronics) Engineering and Masters' degrees in Business Administration (majoring in Marketing, Operations Research & International Business), augmented by several executive training programs at world-renown business schools. He has been an adjunct faculty for many years, most recently at George Washington University where he taught undergraduate, graduate and executive management classes in Marketing Management.  He is also teaching the PMP Certification Course for Virginia Tech.

Mr. Iyer last worked as a senior Program Manager at Exelis Corporation, a member of the team serving the Federal Aviation Administration. He is an active volunteer for PMIWDC, untill recently its Associate VP, Local Communities. He lives in Northern Virginia, where his activities include twice-daily walks with his dog Shyam.
