Portfolio Management is a methodology that provides an integrated and continuous process to identify, prioritize, and control portfolios of projects in alignment with strategic business objectives and key performance indicators. In an era of sharp and continuing budget cutbacks, Portfolio Management and Optimization have become critical tools for both private and public sector organizations to effectively plan, organize, and deploy scarce project resources. Microsoft’s Project Server 2010’s enhanced Portfolio Management feature is now proving itself an indispensable tool for quick, accurate, and coherent formulation of portfolio optimization strategies with clear, unambiguous, and decision-relevant reports and data visualizations. Mr. Jeff Hallett, Principal Consultant for Pcubed (a global leader in project and portfolio management consulting and business transformation) will provide an overview and demonstration of the key features and functions of MS Project Server 2010’s Portfolio Management module in the context of Pcubed’s work with its customers in this growing service area.

About the Speaker

Jeff Hallett

Principal Consultant

Mr. Jeff Hallett is a Principal Consultant working in Pcubed’s Washington, DC practice, currently serving as engagement manager for Pcubed’s ongoing work with an Arlington-based software development and systems engineering firm, providing PMO support for a large Army program.  Mr. Hallett has been involved in program and project management for 18 years, in federal IT and international development arenas, and has been a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2002.  Earlier in his career, he served as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State, with assignments in the Philippines, Taiwan, France and Washington, DC. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Project Management Institute’s Washington, DC Chapter. Mr. Hallett received his BA from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona.
