About the Program
Writing a project management resume is different than any other kind of resume. In addition, here in the Washington, DC area many of the available positions are contract-based. While there is lots of good resume advice and resume writing services in the market place, much of the direction they offer, while great for other industries and professions, can actually keep you from getting that all important interview.
In this session you will learn what details a hiring manager will specifically look for in a project manager resume, review how some common resume advice may be counter-productive for your job search, and how staffing for proposals impacts writing and reviewing resumes. Presented from the point of view of a hiring manager rather than HR, this advice comes from a project manager who has reviewed hundreds of resumes for a wide variety of PM positions. If you've ever wondered what it's like on the other side of the table, this session will show you how to match your skills and experience to the job positions and companies, and move your resume to the top of the pile.
