The POET in Every Program Manager: The Four Dimensions of Managing Programs

Managing programs is very different than projects, especially in the Federal Government.  This presentation highlights these differences and offers a different perspective on the application of key skills needed for Program Managers to succeed.

About the Speakers:

Mr. Cleve Pillifant

Mr. Cleve Pillifant has more than 20 years as a Federal employee with experience in supply, logistics, financial management, accounting, weapon system acquisition and program/project management. He was certified DAWIA Level III in the Business, Cost Estimating and Financial Management career field as well as in Production, Quality, and Manufacturing.  He was a member of the Marine Corps Acquisition Corps and a graduate of the Senior Acquisition Course at National Defense University and the Program Management Course at Defense Acquisition University.  As a Federal employee he was involved in federal acquisitions as a Federal program manager, Comptroller, requirements generator, COTR, source selection official and Director of Contracting.  

As a government contractor he has lead the delivery of contracted services to Federal Agencies for a variety of Federal Programs.  He is well versed in procurement planning and strategy, proposal preparation, proposal evaluation, cost estimating, price analysis, requirements determination, formal source selection procedures, and Federal and DoD acquisition regulations and policies as well as program and project management.
