About Colonel Raymond F. L'Heureux:

Colonel L’Heureux enlisted in the Marine Corps in February 1980 and served with B Co 25th Marines in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was commissioned a second lieutenant in August 1983 after graduating from Nathaniel Hawthorne College in Antrim, New Hampshire. Following The Basic School, he attended flight training at Pensacola FL andwas designated a Naval Aviator and Helicopter Pilot in May 1986.

His initial operational assignment was to MCAS Tustin for training in the CH-53A/D Sea Stallion and ultimate assignment to HMH-363, where he completed three deployments as part of the Unit Deployment Program.. Subsequent operational assignments included HMX-1 at Quantico, MCB Hawaii with HMH-463, and command of the Ugly Angels of HMH-362 and Executive Officer of Marine Aircraft Group 24. His staff assignments included the Deputy Executive Assistant to the Commander, US Pacific Command at Camp Smith HI, and Secretary of Defense Corporate Fellow at Sikorsky Aircraft. He is a graduate of the Marine Corps Amphibious Warfare School and Command and Staff College.

Colonel L’Heureux assumed the position of Commanding Officer HMX-1 in June 2007.

Driving Directions:

  1. From the North or South, take I-95 Exit 148.
  2. At the bottom of the ramp turn toward US 1 (east) and proceed to the Gate.
  3. Stop at the sentry booth and get a visitor pass if needed. Proceed approximately 3.5 miles.
  4. The Clubs at Quantico are located in the second building on the right.
  5. The meeting will be in the SNCO Club located on the left side of the building.
