Skyline Luncheons

Join us for free monthly luncheons on Project Management science and applications, held at the Skyline Office complex in Falls Church, Virginia

  • All Skyline luncheons are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. They begin at 12:00pm with a 10 minute unstructured networking session. At 12:10pm, after a short introduction and after we’ve dealt with some administrative matters, the presentation begins. The presentation ends at 1pm which allows for 30 minutes of additional unstructured networking if attendees desire to stay after the presentation.

  • Join our Yahoo Group by sending an email with your name, and organization to: SkylineLuncheonPMIWDC-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. On our list we provide copies of past presentations, directions to our lunch location in Baileys Crossroads, and two email reminders per month.

  • Our Yahoo Group SkylineLuncheonPMIWDC@yahoogroups.com is an announcement-only type list not used for general email. So you will only receive a limited amount of email and only from the Skyline Baileys Crossroads Lunch meeting moderator, Charles Hermann.

    Event Date:

    About the Presentation

Feedback does not only occur during the Monitoring and Controlling Process tasks. Evaluating formal and informal feedback throughout the project lifecycle is a valuable project management practice. The secret to project management success is being able to recognize when stakeholders are discussing the essential issue or simply reacting to” the tip of the iceberg”. The real issue at hand often is cloaked. Mining the initial feedback and steering difficult discussions toward an actionable agenda is a characteristic of a strong project manager.

    About the Presentation

Did you make any resolutions this past New Years? How’s that going? Various studies have shown that up to 95% of New Year’s resolutions fail, and most of them fail within the first quarter of the New Year. Does this mean we shouldn’t bother making resolutions? That effecting real change is bound to fail? What about effecting change in our projects and organizations?
